"I'm pretty confidant that we have a local business owner willing to cover the cost of a new clock for the same location, which we are very thrilled about," Lozeau wrote, responding to questions from The Telegraph by email. Crawford wrote Monday that the company is working with the city to find a replacement for the clock that will "better fit the downtown theme."
Deane said that he had the impression an anonymous donor was considering funding the clock replacement. Rough estimates put the cost of the project between $15,000 and $17,000, he said.
City workers took down the clock during the second week of April as they began construction outside 157 Main St.
NASHUA Plans are in the works to replace the tall clock that was removed from outside Bank of America in downtown Nashua last month to make way for the city's sidewalk rebuilding project.

Last week, workers were scheduled to pour concrete Babyliss Pro Curl 210 pads and install an asphalt apron inside the curb line.
"Some things get replaced. Some things don't," Lozeau said. "We're going to work with the property owner about that clock and whether that one goes back, or a different one goes in, or none. I don't really know the answer to that yet."
Work resumed April 10 on the sidewalk project, which is in its third year. Crews began on the west side of Main Street between Factory and High streets. All trees in that area were removed and the curb was replaced.
The process of converting the sidewalk from brick to concrete began outside Yogurt in Love, at 143 Main St.
Most structures planted in the city's existing brick sidewalks are being displaced by the rebuilding project.
Workers started by repairing an underground vault in front of the business before installing a new conduit for electrical wires and irrigation pipes. They also added a granite planter, two tree wells and the foundations for two streetlight poles.
"I think what they're trying to do is just fit something into the landscape," Deane said.
Nashua Mayor Donnalee Lozeau was optimistic last week that a private entity would finance a replacement. Lozeau didn't specify whether she was referring to the bank.

Another tree well and light pole foundation also were set be installed, according to the last work update provided by the city.
